Football Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the international break, however can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.
In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Family Life
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this fixture will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
It smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.
Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.
A family member advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.
Fulham have have plenty of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.
As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.
However I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's home form, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
