It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

It needed up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their hitters to hold a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her bow and seven international trophies have come from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it's been a frustrating experience because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," commented Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your fighting spirit activate and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from that point Healy was in motion.

"A chance to play and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

By the time she was dismissed her side required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this World Cup need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

Yet even as she later admitted those physical issues have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
