Trump Calls Loved Ones of Injured Military Personnel to White House
Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.
He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in grave state.
Memorials across West Virginia have occurred in their honor.
Presidential Invitation
The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed journalists. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”
Public Response
Mourners assembled over the past few days at a local school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.
Both they had been working with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist law enforcement in DC.
Paying Tribute to the Soldier
“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators hoped for. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” the principal, the head of her alma mater, stated to the Associated Press. “She was sweet, considerate and always ready to help others.”
Funeral details for Sarah are still being arranged.
Judicial Measures and Policy Revisions
Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old suspect with one count of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.
The tragedy prompted the government to pause asylum applications and halt granting entry permits to holders of Afghan passports.
Status of Wolfe
Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, according to the Associated Press.
He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier
Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a law enforcement officer with excellence, per the military.
“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had bravery,” Morrisey addressed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
